The 2018 Viewer's Choice Awards is announced. For many years it has been the largest online contest of the kind. And VCA participation has always been limited to videos added to A-M-V.orgdatabase. But not anymore. This year, the VCA rules have changed! Now any video released in 2017 is eligible for participation, as long as it can be watched online. Videos will be nominated by both audience and jury, and anyone can vote for the nominees - you don't have to be an A-M-V.orgmember anymore.
Author's comment: It's been a hot minute since I uploaded a video and I'm a little out of practice, so I wanted to make something short and simple to cut my teeth on. I promise I'll have more stuff down the line this year. ._.

Annual contest of fan-made videos CreaCon 2018 has officially started. Entries accepted from March 12th till April 12th, 2018. Any kind of exclusive fan-made videos can be entered, the ones made of movies, TV series, games, sport shows, as well as self-shot footage and original 3D. The one main restriction concerns anime music videos: those are not accepted because CreaCon was originally created as an alternative to AMV contests. It's been two years since the death of Umika Sayoji. Most likely we already have a new generation of editors who have never heard about her. Umika was a talented artist and editor, her works were well-known and loved throughout the world. The whole AMV community looked forward to watch every new video from her. She left us early and her death was a devastating loss. But up to this day many creators find inspiration in her works, and the memory of her lives on.
