Hey guys, it's been a while since I joined Big Contest. Kinda weird to participate in it and not being a Judge hehehe.
So, I was thinking about making a new Horror video. And I had this song listened since 2011 back in AKROSS Con. Unfortunately by that time I didn't have any anime for it... yet until now.
There's a curious story behind this AMV: When I first picked this serie I had problem encoding. Fortunately I contacted Zarxrax and helped me encoding the footage and even getting a HQ version of the footage simce this is a 2001 footage, and the sing is also from that time.
If there could be a Retro Category, this one could fit in it.

Исходное аниме -- это конечно, нечто... очень странное. В том году вроде на него был клип где-то-тут-рядом (тот был хуже этого, имхо). Смотреть такое, я, конечно, не стал, но прочитал в википедии сюжет -- одного этого хватает, чтобы крыша немного заскрипела и начала съезжать.
В общем, сложно и противоречиво всё: музыка хорошая, видео отвратительное и странное, сделано добротно, но оригинальный клип не даёт оценить объективно.
The song is great, and the original music video is absolutely fantastic — I still re‑watch it now and then, ever since I first saw it. And that’s the problem: compared to the original music video, it’s very hard not to lose. (That’s why I always rejected the idea of using the song for an AMV.)
The original anime is, surely, something... very strange. Last year there was an AMV on it somewhere‑around‑here (that one was worse than this, in my opinion). I didn’t bother watching the anime, of course, but I read the plot on Wikipedia — just that alone was enough to make my head start creaking and slowly come loose.
In short, everything is complicated and contradictory: the music is good, the video is disgusting and weird, AMV well‑made in its own way, but the original music video doesn’t allow an objective assessment.

В моём случае этот любитель не проснулся...
1. The original footage was modified in order to match the vibe of the video. But as a whole I decided to keep the half of it and the rest edited.
2. Before anyone ask: this is a footage from 2001. That's the reason why it should keep this resolution. In fact, if you decide to search it you'll find out that it's available as 640x480. At first I was thinking about upscaling it vía AI but the results weren't satisfying, so I decided to keep in with this one.

Далее уже вопросы. Почему в 26 году, с учётом того, что это врятли шортс, разрешение экрана 1 к 1? будто на бабушкином телевизоре смотрел)) (немного окунулся в детство хе-хе).
3д графика выглядит не живой, априори, если эта графика сделана исключительно автором, хвалю, 3д штука п***ц... Но в ином случае персонажи дубовые, эмоции на лицах еле читаемы.
Сама идея не понятна, гг истории резко меняется, потом возвращается, из ключевых событий понял только 2: она находится в каком-то пиздеце; Она кого-то поцеловала (Это кто? какой посыл я мог увидеть? Могу предположить, что она приручила свой страх или что-то в этом роде);
В целом, не могу рационально оценить клип, поэтому воздержусь с оценкой, оставлю только огласку личного мнения, что сугубо индивидуально и без каких-либо камней в адрес автора. Мне как зрителю было сложно понять задумку
I would prefer if the entire intro up to 0:48 had slower cuts instead of feeling so obligated to keep up with the music, scenes like the girl hugging the man's arm at 0:25 and the mc acknowledging her first tear at 0:35 felt fitting to stay for much longer on screen because the vocals take a brief pause so you could let those scenes "breathe" a little just like the song did.
The scene of the girl at 0:44 when she rests her hand against the moon and leans against it would also feel nice to stay longer on screen due to it being the first time the violin sounding instrument is put into focus when the vocals stop.
But when the video picks up steam I really enjoy it and wouldn't change anything about it pretty much, perhaps the elevator segment at 2:08 till 2:17 lasts a bit too long and theres some lip flap here and there, also the credits seem to invoke a more "carnival haunted house attraction" with the dirt roads and spooky foggy woods with vegetation and tombstones that feel much more "stock footage" horror collage and not related to the identity the rest of the video seemed to be going for, but these things doesn't detract much from the video.
My fav part was definitely the slow dreamy segment from 2:34 all the way till the end.
