Hey I freaking love Wakfu and I wanted to capture the adventurous feeling I got from the show in this video. The working title of it was "Nekokitkat did this song better" but I feel like I approached the song in a different way at the end. The credits are pretty long and there are spoilers but only for season 1.

if you watch any other wakfu vid (infinite gate is a good one!) i think youll see how much work i put into finding those pretty fluid scenes to match the music without relying on effects. yes, its basic in the sense that there arent many /noticeable/ effects, but id argue that the actual use of the source is much more involved than taking a pretty source and putting to music. i basically drove myself insane trying to find all the fluid scenes and syncing them in a way that still allowed me to respect the story of the source.
wakfu was surprisingly difficult to work with despite its moments of beautiful animation. like, any of my other vids i would be fine with someone saying i just threw stuff on the timeline and the source carried it, but i really worked hard on getting the source to look like it does on this one. it took like a year and a half of trying to edit it, getting frustrated that the source wasnt easy to edit with and giving up haha. thank you for the feedback though!

Не знаю, у меня нет ощущения, что наша анимация что-то потеряла, раз у нас нет ничего похожего. А этом сорце французском если что и трогает, то это сам дизайн персов и сеттинг вселенной. Сама анимация бюджетная же, без отрисовки каждого кадра.
Сама идея с путешествиями друзей не по дизайну, а по сюжету напомнила бессмертного Камину сего буром. Кстати, памятник в дереве в одной из сцен - тоже.

Абсолютно не "типикал". Аниме, в данном случае - анимационная продукция, распространённая в данной стране. Если брать отправной точкой Вакфу. Получается - типичный французский приключенческий мульт.
"Я люблю тебя" - достаточно примитивный закос под Синкая, как раз.
Ёжик в тумане уж куда типичнее. И за наши старые сказки, или переложение Геракла на экран Петрова, или за пародийное "Ограбление по..." мне не стыдно, как за попытку "сделать не хуже, чем".

but why do you expect "progression" (by which I think you mean linear progression)? linear progression feels like something you'd see in a generic romance vid by a souls team, nexus or crows team editor...or in better cases, when people do good story amvs. but this video feels like it's not a story vid, but just editing that's capturing the energy of the music and in that regard there was progression (and cooling down) whenever there was progression (and ocoling down) in the music's energy
