I achieved the distortion by importing the .mp4 in Audacity multiple times, in the first iteration I exported it without any changes within Audacity, however this will still distort the video. The second version was reversed and had the echo effect added before exporting. Afterwards, I imported both versions into After Effects above each other with the clean one on the bottom. The upper layer got a gaussRandom expression on the opacity attribute to switch back and forth between both layers.

This project was yet again all about using AI in AMVs. I tried to use PikaLabs for storytelling purposes and simply style. It’s a service that generates you images out of prompts or animates your still images. I fell in love with animating still images. Here is a full ai-shotlist with timecodes and used methods:

I wanted the visual style of this video to be really slow, uneasy and eerie. It’s a mix of camera lens blur, light rays and luma adjustments. The color style is inspired by the videogame “The Shrouded Isle”. Videoclips got interpolated with varies methods (Twixtor, FlowFrames…) to give this an even more uncanny eerie feeling.

The song is called “Silhouette” and LORN was once again my musical artist of choice, since I can’t stop thinking about his unique music. There are still many songs to edit to, before I feel satisfied, so expect more to come. You can check out and buy his music on bandcamp:

This AMV focuses on Makima from Chainsaw man. The motivation for this AMV was how well I thought the song fit Makima's character. Originally, I wanted to make a very unique story-driven AMV with a lot of composition and masking to create custom scenes and a unique story, but overall I found it too hard to sync to the intense parts of the song so I ended up making something a bit simpler. Hopefully it still works out. The AMV starts up slow and builds up the atmosphere and tension and then all hell breaks loose.

This is a dream come true for me, I have always wanted to make an AMV with Steve Reich music, but his works are very complex and it is very difficult to adapt that complexity in an AMV, my solution, use Fibonacci sequences.

In total there are three Fibonacci sequences, which represent three different acts: The discovery (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21(7). The bloody madness (1,1,2,3,5, 8(4,5),21(7.5) and The Lost (1,1,2,3,5(2.5),8(1,1,2),13(1,1,2),21(3) I think it's very good and works fantastically with the music (especially in the second act).

I decided to call the AMV as The Argonauts, the story of the first explorers of the Abyss, it reminded me of the old Greek legend (Argonaut, in Greek legend, any of a band of 50 heroes who went with Jason in the ship Argo to fetch the Golden Fleece).

This is my own interpretation of Robert W. Chambers short story collection "The King In Yellow" from 1895. It is heavily influenced by story and art of H.P. Lovecraft, the pen and paper Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium Inc and the Arkham Horror board and card game franchise by Fantasy Flight Games.
The original mythos goes as follows: There is a cursed theater play called "The King In Yellow". Everybody reading the play starts decending into madness. The reader gets visions of Hastur (The King In Yellow), the lake Hali and Carcosa (the damned city). The blessed reader also receives visions of The Yellow Sign. Those seeing it are chosen to preapre the kings decent onto our planet.
My video is based on those stories. It's a fanfiction. I'm well aware that this is extremly niche. However I hope that I can reach many fans of the original stories and I had a lot of fun creating this video and craming in as many references as possible. This is packed on with messages and easter eggs. I still believe this is an enjoyable horror video to people not knowing of the original mythos and maybe I can inspire some people to read the stories. I can especially recommend "The King In Yellow" by Robert W. Chambers and the Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft.

Technical note:
Most storytelling is done by mixing the main anime "Mahō Tsukai no Yome" with "Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Adolescence Mokushiroku". There are some support scenes from other anime as well. Additional material ranges from original 3D, original book cover art, fan art and supportive stock videos. Most scenes are done with compositions in After Affects. Adobe's brand new Photoshop neural filters, machine learning and AI effects played a huge role in pulling that video off.

This is a custom extended version of the song. It is lengthed with Adobe Premiere Pro Beta's latest remix tools in Essential Sounds. The crackling in the music is itential by the musical artist and is no encoding error.

This video placed 9th at TOS Contest 2021 storytelling and 6th at the creativity category. Which makes me quiet proud of it!
